Guest Speaker: Dr. Hord

In attendance: 43

Dr. Hord shared with the Dietetics Club about the different programs he has completed, different students he has worked with (including Shari from the Grocery Store presentation earlier this term) and how it has been a long journey in the Nutrition field. Opening up for student questions, Dr. Hord heavily emphasized connecting and partnering with faculty as Oregon State faculty strive to help students prepare for the various paths students can take in Food and Nutrition. At the same time, “don’t forget to live”, worrying about grades and competing with fellow students shouldn’t constantly be on your mind. Dr. Hord also emphasized applying what you learn in the classroom to hands on experience is a great way to learn. If your goal is to become a Registered Dietitian, you will be, don’t let the long journey discourage you!
