The Actuarial Science Club (ASC) strives to help our members learn about the actuarial profession, connect with students and faculty in the Actuarial Science program, connect with actuaries in the profession, and find internships and other career opportunities.
The ASC meets three to four times per term. All students, whether an ASC member or not, are welcome to attend. These meetings include
General Club Meetings
Meetings held to hear announcements about upcoming events, connect with other Actuarial Science students, learn about useful resources, and discuss about actuarial exams.
On-campus presentations led by guest speaker actuaries from various Life, Health, and Property and Casualty insurers in the Pacific Northwest.
Tutorials led by actuaries or ASC officers to help Actuarial Science students further their career-related technical skills. Previous workshops include a Microsoft Excel tutorial led by actuaries from Cambia Health Solutions.
Events held to connect with faculty, other Actuarial Science students, and guest actuaries in a low-key environment. Previous socials include Poker Night and the Water Pong Tournament.
