Each month we have the opportunity to attend an ASCE sponsored dinner in Portland. We are very fortunate to work closely with the local Oregon Section Geotechnical Engineering Technical Group. Consultants have chipped in to create a fund to sponsor student’s attendance at group meetings. These are invaluable opportunities to meet practicing engineers, discuss their projects, and perhaps get to know future employers. You may also have the opportunity to meet or be reacquainted with recent graduates who have transitioned into the workforce.
As part of an effort for continuing education outside of the classroom the GIGSO hosts a monthly guest lecture series throughout the year. Engineering students are highly encouraged to attend!
