Christian Veterinary Fellowship

The Christian Veterinary Fellowship (CVF) chapter at the Oregon State University (OSU) Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine is a student-run club, with its parent organization being Christian Veterinary Mission (CVM). CVF provides a place for future veterinarians to come together on a regular basis to learn more about God, build relationships with Christian veterinarians already out in practice, and develop lasting friendships that make the rigor of veterinary school easier to endure. As veterinarians-in-training who also love Jesus, it is our desire to transform the lives of those in our community and around the world by both sharing our faith and improving the health of companion animals, livestock, and exotic animals. Students in CVF are challenged to gain a deeper understanding of how Christianity and veterinary medicine are practiced in different areas of the world, and also encouraged to integrate their faith into their career while living out God's plan for their lives.

It is our chapter's goal to show love and provide spiritual support to our classmates, faculty and staff, and college as a whole. Our CVF group meets on a regular basis to pray, hold Bible studies, learn from Christian veterinarians out in practice, serve, and enjoy each other's company. In addition to local events such as our Night Staff Appreciation Soup Dinners and Operation Christmas Child shoebox drive, CVF members are encouraged to attend Real Life Real Impact Northwest, a CVM-organized, conference-style retreat joining both OSU and Washington State University veterinary professionals (students, faculty and staff, and their spouses) for a weekend of fellowship and professional development. CVM also coordinates short-term missions trips and mission apprenticeships for students wishing to both share their faith and develop their veterinary skills abroad.
