What We're All About

Each year USSA participates in the Adopt-a-Highway program for Benton County and also helps prepare and serve meals at a Stone Soup, a local soup kitchen. We have also organized and facilitated Beaver Buddies, an event in the spring that invites local elementary school children to come participate in arts and crafts, physics experiments, and outdoor activities. On that day each child is paired with a USSA member who is given the privilege of serving as a positive mentor and instilling in each “beaver buddy” a passion for learning. We are hoping to get the ball rolling on this project early this school year and encourage you to be a part of that exciting process.

In order to make these projects possible and to provide refreshments at our meetings throughout the year, we do ask that each member contribute annual dues of $12, which allows you to participate in all USSA activities. If you are interested in learning more about this worthwhile club, we encourage you to look for us at the Fall Scholarship Orientation. Our first meeting of the year will follow shortly and we hope you will attend. Lastly, we invite you to sign up for email updates, which will provide you with up-to-date information.

Being involved with USSA is an excellent way to get connected at Oregon State and looks great on a résumé. Please feel free to contact us with any questions that you have about the University Scholars Student Association. We are looking forward to an incredible year!
